Well it's 2012 and everyone around the world generally feel a spark of hope and positivity about how this next year we face is going to unravel. For some (i would feel confidant in assuming not too many at all) this plan unravels just as they had wished for...but for the rest of us. not so.
This year I've decided to set only one goal, one i know i can achieve. lose 15Kg's...
i know i know it's like up there with impossible. But I'm determined. in fact Ive been to the gym every night for at least an hour and a half to two hours. FEEL GREAT! just loving the gym!!! in fact i think i may be hooked..?
Here are some pictures from my new years holiday. Had an absolute blast! Who ever thought it was a good idea to give me a scooter was really really wrong :) haha
Oh i forgot to tell you where i went.. well My elder bother and i joined Jill and her family to a little island off the coast...about a half hour fairy ride called magnetic island. It's so beautiful!! You can see the mainland at night, all the lights across the ocean. It's one of those places you'd go to for a holiday and never leave! Highly recommend you visit.
After Christmas we packed the car up, and hit the road. Friday morning and we where on our way! Jill, impatient to just get there would not sit still in the car haha just like having a two year old. i nearly had to pull the " if you don't stop I'm going to pull over line" i thought better of it... she's a black belt.
Now in every story I find myself telling I'm always ALWAYS getting us lost... After arriving in Townsville and missing the first fairy over to the island we decided some retail therapy was much needed... I pretty much got fairly lost.. ended up on a bi pas highway to Cairns... bit of hit and miss. no one else saw the bright side like i did.
Eventually we made it onto the island. Jill celebrated her big 2 0 ! that night.
Then this happened...
SCOOTERS!!!!!!!!!!!
Had an absolute ball on theses things! honking at all the passers buy. just could not helo myself. Everyone on the island recognized us on these scooters.
If you can imagine with all your mite a place where there are just no rules... like none. Magnetic island is pretty much it. Basic common sense is all that is required.
(New years party)
There is a beach / backpackers that hold the new years party. it was so gorgeous! On the beach with a beautifully refreshing breeze sweeping through the crowd curring good positive vibes. I was ... unbelievably sober. There was no need to drink. I was quite happy dancing and meeting new people and still having the time of my life. Who'd have thought??!!! never the less i still suffered quite a hang over from... well ... I'm putting it down to being drunk on happiness because the next day was a sad sad day all round spent sleeping and hitting the beaches.
Leaving Magnetic to the real world was far more punishing than i have envisioned by a long shot. What i would give to be able have that time away forever... i guess my time will come.
I truly had the best time away with my brother and best mate. Who could ask for more? Fairly frequently i found myself asking " i wonder what the poor people are doing?" Well to be honest it's not even the poor. just people unwilling or incapable of going away and enjoying such a wonderful time like i had. Sitting back and appreciating everything around you. using all my seances and just breathing it all in eyes shut and completely whole. it's been a long time since I've felt "content". In these moments i wish i could have brought someone who wouldn't usually come or just simply couldn't afford it just so they knew how good it felt. To give something more then a holiday to someone because we all deserve it.
So back to reality and the gym. So good so far. Looking forward to my upcoming birthday. I will fill you in on that next adventure. SKI DIVING!
Be safe!

Getting Back to Nature
Today I found myself driving out of town with one of my closest friends... I’ll call her Jill.
Jill and I haven’t always been close but our friendship is one i plan to maintain for many years to come. She's a bright, talented, very beautiful girl. Very family orientated. This is somewhat different to mine I guess. Her parents are together and they are all very tight nit.
Today I had three in the car; Jill and I and her youngest sibling (ill call him Joe)
We left our little city and headed for the hills... a rainforest with a few gorgeous to swim in. The walk…well I won’t lie; I’ve been in far better shape that’s for sure! Walk left me feeling like I could use a triple bi bas at any moment... must do something about that.
Finally getting to the ice cold water was a 50/50 feeling of overwhelming relief and to the core freezing. The fresh water with my best mate and being able to show Joe around and the creatures to be seen and heard was a great feeling. Somewhat rewarding.
I’ve been to these spots more times than I can count on my fingers and toes; so one could say that i knew the place fairly well.
As the day led on and our tummies began to rumble; we trekked back down the mountain in good spirits. After not even two minutes thunder rolled through the mountains. We all looked at each other in confusion not quite comprehending. None of us had ever been up there while it rained. You could feel the rumble of the thunder around us through your feet and chest.
The clouds where so low and the mountain is quite high. We were quite literally in the clouds! Through the break of the rainforest balcony we could glimpse the storm that was building around us.
Wish I had taken my camera to capture the moment; though i doubt it would do it anywhere near justice...
Driving home there the storm was following us; rain so heavy I could barely see the road ahead!
It was a tad bazaar; again i got a moment of clarity through the rain; rolling bright green hills with showers of rain coming down in a fine mist. It was something out of a movie! Again kicking myself for the lack of camera! The one time I leave the house without it and BAM! A day full of beautiful shots missed!
The lightening was everywhere; quite close at time. Nature sure did put on a show!
welcome to the tropics!
Sometimes nature can show you things, things you may never get to see or feel again. Makes you put things into prospective. Our existence is at the mercy of the ever powerful Mother Nature.
Beauty is everywhere if your prepared to see.
I'm prepared to say I live a fairly outdoorsy (just making words up) lifestyle. It's hard to avoid here as... well...there isn’t much else to do.
Living in the Whitsundays I’m surrounded sights such as the Great Barrier Reef & White heaven; it's simply hard to avoid let alone resist!
This was taken at Shout Harbour on a quick fishing trip.
Anyhow that was my days adventures.

What The !
So once again it's the holiday season and one again where all obligated to spend time with family and people who you only see on special occasions such as Christmas. The jackpot of over eating and indulging in everything put before you; followed by guilt and insane hang overs.
Why is it that year after year we put ourselves through all of the food and excessive drinking? is it to make the day that little bit more bearable? if so, why!!
For those who love Christmas with their families please excuse my somewhat cynical outlook on this festive day.
I will admit, I enjoy spending time with my family on these types of occasions. Double dipping with gifts received from the step family, the awkward or inappropriate uncle, sea food fingers!
i guess Christmas is a time when people can be themselves because if you can’t be your true self around your own family... when can you?
One complex and also exhausting aspect of the family Christmas is the gifts!! What are you meant to get everyone? If your anything like me Most of whom I haven't seen or properly spoken to since last Christmas or even longer !? Body shop all round is a bit of a bomb shell of hints that you clearly haven’t a clue. Even worse, the good old gift voucher. Though substantially better value, the gift you get to choose yourself. Boxing day sales eat your heart out! Defiantly never offended to receive a card and voucher. Have you noticed that there is usually always one family or person who loves to hand out the gift vouchers? Noticed how relaxed and calm they were? id suggest quite a bit more merry and cheerful then the ones who had clearly spent day even weeks planning and thinking up gift ideas.
Feel free to tell me about your gift giving or receiving stories! I’d be interested to hear!!
Also Merry Christmas and thanks for reading :)
